T&Cs

"Gardens are often the largest room in the house. If we can empower you to utilise your garden more and maximise your square footage, our work is done".

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

1.     We first establish whether we're the best fit. All of our customers receive a quick phone call. We find it efficiently reduces disappointment and initiates clarity of our work.

2.     We work with people. Prior to committing to works, we'll meet you in person, see the space and understand your needs. You can get an idea of who we are, how we conduct our business and what we can do for you.

3.     An online presence is critical for most businesses. It's what drives us daily to surpass expectations and deliver an outstanding experience. If you are looking for reassurance, our customer reviews demonstrate our diligence and continuity. We also showcase our own garden here.

4.     We provide all quotes via email with accompanying T&C's, to remove ambiguity and ensure accountability.

5.     Once a quote is confirmed upon, we arrange a suitable date and time to work. You can expect an email reminder the day before to ensure access is available and any last-minute matters addressed.

6.     We arrive within a half an hour window of your booking time and commence works immediately independently.

7.     Although not necessary, we actively encourage our customers to come out and chat with us during and upon completion of our works. We are keen to get to know you.

8.     We pride ourselves on leaving your garden, how we would like our own garden left. We demonstrate this reliability, with photos of our completed customer's gardens on our website.

9.     We don't request payment, until the completion of works. Although we will accept cash and cheques, our preferred method of payment is bacs.

10.  Following works, we'll continue to be in touch via email and may even provide recommendations, on how you can improve your garden further.

T&C's

1.0 Cancellation

1.1 By confirming the quote you confirm that you and all stakeholders, have familiarised yourselves fully and agree to the Terms & Conditions. Both confirmation and cancellations are required in writing. Your quote is valid for 10 days. We prioritise gardens which provide sufficient year-round work. We regularly review our customers and from time to time it’s in our business interest to stop providing a service. You as the client or Basjoo Gardening Services can cancel the agreement (before the service is started and thereafter once commenced).

1.2 Once confirmed and diarised it means that we have reserved time in our schedule exclusively for you. We are fully committed to your work and will commence pre-purchasing any materials required, booking specific members of our team and necessary equipment and arranging other operational elements. Due to the above, we expect you as a customer to be as committed to the arrangements and to expect a cancellation charge should you need to revoke this commitment. Cancellations made 10 days or less before a scheduled appointment will be subject to a minimum cancellation charge of £65.00. This includes appointments where our service provider is unable to access the property, is turned away, or the client is a no-show. The time and/or day of our Regular Garden Maintenance Visits are flexible and subject to change with business demands. We correspond with all customers prior, so you'll always be kept in the loop.

1.3 If Basjoo cancels an appointment with less than 48 hours' notice, a new appointment will be scheduled without penalty to the client, subject to availability. Occasionally weather conditions impede our work schedule, so we endeavour to rearrange our bookings, however, in a minority of cases we may have no other option but to cancel.

2.0 Payment

2.1 We require no payment before or during your works (unless otherwise stated) however, we do expect to be paid in full on completion of works and receipt of our invoice. Most clients prefer the convenience of paying for the year’s services by 12-monthly standing order. Payment is BACS transfer (online payment) within 10 days. If a payment is outstanding or missed and we are scheduled to conduct a quote or work for you, this will only take place once outstanding invoices have been paid in full and we have suitable availability.

2.2 We review our rates annually. Our next review will take place on April 1st 2024. We review our rates in line with inflation, the Consumer Price Index informs part of our review. Costs are rounded up to the closest pound.

2.3 Price is correct at the time of quotation and may increase at the time of purchasing materials. This quote is based on the assumption that there are no hidden obstacles beneath the surface such as buried tree stumps, patios or hardcore etc. If such obstacles are found then the cost of removing them would be additional to those costs already described above.

2.4 Basjoo Gardening Services will carry out work based on the quote received, its contents/specifications and your acceptance of it. If you wish to make any changes to the quote/ work specification, please advise us prior to the work commencing via a change request, so we can revise the quote and adjust the operational arrangements and prices accordingly. Please note that changes to a job that causes the gardeners to stop work once they have started may result in a charge for the lost labour time. We’re happy to plant a few new plants that you purchase. If it's a regular occurrence or a volume of plants, we'll likely have to make additional time/quote, so as to not detract from the work we've quoted you and others for. We also provide plant sourcing, so do let us know if this is something you'd want us to do.

3.0 Access

3.1 Whether it’s hospital, holiday or you’ve just slept in, we maintain your garden, even whilst you’re away. We understand customers do not want to be restricted by having to be present when we visit. Please ensure access is available for us to complete our work, as we can’t adapt our diary to mirror your schedule.

3.2 If access is inhibited or restricted during the time booked and agreed to undergo the scheduled works, regrettably we will have to charge for the loss of income. This can include but is not limited to, faulty or locked gates, obstructions blocking equipment access, neighbouring properties waste and debris. To be paid within 10 days.

3.3 Basjoo Gardening Services will require a parking space close to your property, ideally on a driveway or at the curbside. If you live in an area where parking permits are required, please provide us with permits for the duration of the work prior to commencement. Regretfully, if no permit is provided, we may not be able to attend your garden work, but charges may still apply.

3.4 Booked arrival times are approximate, please allow a degree of flexibility to account for traffic/ other delays.

3.5 We take photos prior to, during and following our work. These are used for, but not limited to evidencing our work and marketing by Basjoo Gardening Services. We make the utmost effort to not include your house or yourself in the photos. Your address will NOT be disclosed in any of our marketing. In the event that you do not want your images used for marketing purposes, do let us know.

4.0 Damage

4.1 Basjoo Gardening Services accepts no liability for damage to utilities unless the position of said utilities is clearly marked on a site plan. You as the client have to notify Basjoo Gardening Services of all known workings under the said area. In the eventuality that you don't or can't, although Basjoo Gardening Services will proceed with the utmost precaution and care, any damage caused will be at your cost. Please advise us prior to the commencement of any known cables or pipework that may be hidden from view.

4.2 Where breakages or other accidental damage occurs due to Basjoo Gardening Services, please discuss the situation directly with Basjoo Gardening Services.

5.0 Waste

5.1 It’s common for people to profoundly underestimate the amount of waste that is generated in a garden. We require you to communicate your plan for the waste generated when confirming your Quote. Please familiarise yourself with some of the options available to you, and let us know your waste plan.

5.2 The term waste removal refers only to waste produced by Basjoo Gardening Services, it excludes disposal of any material otherwise on-site. The removal of litter or animal excrement from the site is the responsibility of the client. We do not work in or alongside animal excrement. If you have failed to adequately dispose of animal excrement prior to our work, regrettably we will not work within the surrounding area but still charge in full.

5.3 If you would like us to take away organic waste, it’s worth noting that we have an organic waste fee of an additional £65.00 (minimum) if this is required. As a Commercial entity, to transport organic waste (lawn & shrub cuttings) from a customer’s premises, we are required by law to hold a Waste Carrier License. We dispose of organic waste responsibly. Our organic waste is turned into biofuel and compost. Here is a copy of our lower-tier Waste Carrier certificate:
