FAQs

Why should we go for Basjoo, over others?

Professional standards.

If answering our phone, informing you of the process, promptly responding to correspondence and delivering on what we say we will, are important to you, they are to us too. We're likely to be a good fit.

If finding the cheapest is your primary consideration, we're perhaps not the best solution.

Here is further information about how the pricing model benefits you.

Do you charge per hour or per job?

Although some in the industry may charge per hour, have their workload allocated upon arrival and time commitment defined by their clients. We routinely hear that this commonly generates conflicting priorities and relationships between clients and businesses. The client wants efficiency, whilst the business is incentivised to work inefficiently. This type of working relationship places a high dependency on the client.

In contrast, we find our customers are more satisfied when we offer a professional service, delivered by professionals who are trusted to perform duties within a pre-agreed arrangement. That's why we stress, all of our work is via a pre-agreed fixed quote. Similar to what you may experience with most trades or services.

Most of our clients prefer the convenience of paying for the year’s services by 12-monthly standing order.

Do I need to be in?

Our business processes are structured so you don't have to be in. Following an initial meet and greet, you can expect email correspondence including your quote and invoices electronically. BACS payment is our preferred payment option. We've deliberately gone to the effort of making our business easy to interact with remotely.

Do you do Weeding/ Landscaping/ Tree Surgery/ Garden Design/ Pressure Washing?

Although these are specialisms in their own profession, we DO provide some soft landscaping such as a new lawn, plant source and installation, terrain change, supply of aggregate etc. Our regular maintenance often consists of lawn care, border maintenance (deadheading/weeding) and shrub pruning.

If you require tree work, new decking, artificial turf, pressure washing or a patio, we're not the right solution. If in doubt, just get in touch.

What happens to the garden waste?

We require you to communicate your preference for the waste generated when confirming your quote.

If you would like us to take away organic waste, it’s worth noting that we charge for this if required. As a Commercial entity, to transport organic waste (lawn & shrub cuttings) from a customer’s premises, we are required by law to hold a Waste Carrier License. We dispose of organic waste responsibly. Our organic waste is turned into biofuel. We provide a copy of our Waste Carrier License within our quotes and are happy to evidence disposal of the waste if required.

Do you provide reductions for OAPs?

We believe we're fantastic value for money. We accept we're not the cheapest out there, but we pride ourselves on our service. We do not provide price reductions, as our clients appreciate the same quality service, regardless of their demographic.

Let's face it, anyone can be a gardener and frankly, we celebrate people getting into their gardens. However, we're professionals, striving to provide a professional service and craft. Jon has had the privilege of graduating with first-class honours, worked in salaried roles and even been to a Buckingham Palace garden party. His professional background, informs how we operate as a business.

Written quotes with terms and conditions, BACS payment, a website, a phone and email which someone promptly responds to, Public Liability, Risk Assessments, Qualifications, own equipment, reliable punctual delivery, customer service, limitation of our workmanship, presentable business, responsible disposal of waste and longevity of relationships, these are all integral to what we do. We hear, when businesses or labourers don't have these safeguards in place, it's usually their clients, unfortunately, who burden the negative implications.

How long will it take?

We'll estimate a timeframe, however, things can and do often change. We believe, by NOT providing a pay p/hour service, it creates a more flexible experience, however, rest assured we'll keep communication open and frequent throughout our work.

We endeavour to respond to enquiries efficiently. Within a quote, we'll provide a suggested date to commence work. Once a quote is confirmed, we'll send you a calendar invite. We quote as Contractors to perform specific tasks only, rather than an Employee on a time-based commitment. Our time spent in a garden fluctuates. This is an indication of our expected arrival time only.

Do you need any tools, an electricity point, a toilet, or tea/ coffee?

Thank you, but no, we're superhuman.
